  • NIH grants VT Researchers $2 Million for Development of Zika Virus Vaccine.  LEARN MORE.
  • The COVID-19 vaccine is currently due to arrive in Roanoke the week of December 14.  Paul Skolnik, MD and Chair of Carilion Clinic’s Department of Medicine shares his expertise on the vaccine through an informative question/answer format video.    LEARN MORE.
  • Virginia Tech’s Apex Center for Entrepreneurs has won the top award from the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers for exceptional contributions in entrepreneurship research. “I am proud of Rick Hunt and David Townsend, who have led our entrepreneurship research efforts,” Pamplin School of Business Management Department Head Devi Gnyawali,  said. Hunt and Townsend coalesced scholarly work in Pamplin and grew the research network across campus through two new initiatives, a research collaborative and faculty fellowships. The fellows have included faculty members from the colleges of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Architecture and Urban Studies, Engineering, and Science, and the Fralin Biomedical Institute.  LEARN MORE.
  • Congratulations are in order for Roanoker and President Matt Huff of Poe & Cronk Real Estate Group who was included in the recent Virginia Business’ 100 People to Meet in 2021: Builders. Also included, in the Educator sector is President Mary Dana Hinton of Hollins University and Kristin Gehsmann, Professor and director of the School of Education at Virginia Tech.
