The Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC supports justice and dignity for all people.
We reject all forms of prejudice and discrimination, including those based on age, color, disability, gender, national origin, race, political affiliation, religion and beliefs, and sexual orientation.
Targeting people based on any of these characteristics is unjust. We do not tolerate this behavior at our workplace and we will speak out in opposition to such injustices when they occur.
We promote diversity and inclusion at the Fralin Biomedical Research institute, on our Health Sciences and Technology campus and in our community. As such, we reject all forms of prejudice and discrimination including in the recruitment, hiring, support, mentorship, career advancement, and education of our students, faculty, and staff at all levels of our organization.
These principles were formed through a series of listening sessions and discussions among the staff, students and faculty of the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute in the spring of 2020 and were written in alignment with Virginia Tech’s Principles of Community and the university’s Policy on Harassment, Discrimination, and Sexual Assault.
